You Are What You Read

There's an old saying that says, "You are what you eat."  I think a more appropriate quip would be, "You are what you read.  Or watch, or listen to."

One of Satan's great victories in this world has been convincing people -- even Christian people -- that the books we read, movies we watch and music we listen to is all "just entertainment."  But there is a reason Paul instructed believers in Philippians 4:8 to think about "...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable..."  The things we ingest through our eyes and ears DO have a profound effect on who we are, on our hearts and our spirits.

Would we feed our bodies junk and expect them to be healthy and strong? So then when we feed our minds junk, how can we expect our hearts to produce righteous and holy fruit?
